INSPIRING A GENERATION TO LOVE CHRIST AND ADVANCE HIS KINGDOM

Okeechobee Christian Academy has been blessed with the distinct purpose of teaching the next generation to become Christian leaders who will seek to advance God’s kingdom here on earth. Jesus’ last words to His disciples as He ascended into heaven were: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19–20 ESV). Notice the commands: Go, make disciples, and teach them. This is our God-given mission. We feel responsible to pass on a biblical worldview to the students of OCA because we believe the Word of God to be the standard of truth. A biblical lens allows students to see clearly God’s providential hand in this world, enabling them to lay hold of the plan and future that God has for each of them. We want our students to develop a deep, passionate love for Christ and His Word. Our primary goal with each of them is to help them grasp and believe that they are loved and cherished by their Creator, they understand their great significance and worth, and they recognize the awesome opportunity they have to live an abundant life with Him.

WELCOME TO OCA

Dear Students, Parents, Friends, and Community Members,

I am overwhelmed to see all that God is doing at Okeechobee Christian Academy. It is amazing to watch the growth that we have experienced. With each passing year, God has expanded our mission field by bringing new students and families that will have the opportunity to apprehend and walk in God’s purpose for their lives through a solid biblical education.

The focus for this year is to continue to improve the quality of what we offer to our students and families. We have been working on raising the standard in all areas: spiritually, academically, and relationally. OCA staff members participate daily in devotional teaching that, in addition to their own personal study, helps prepare them to impart spiritual truths to their students. Teachers are also working towards incorporating a new writing program that will help our students become better communicators. Students are being challenged with our rigorous curriculum and are being encouraged to take more ownership in their education. In addition, one of our goals is to enhance and improve our relationships with our parents and other members of the community through meaningful participation in our Parent-Teacher Fellowship and other school events.

I look forward to working diligently with you as a fellow team member to accomplish our mission of “inspiring the next generation to love Christ and advance His kingdom.”
