Okeechobee Christian Academy was established to provide a quality Christian education for students. Students who are enrolled and those applying for admission to OCA are evaluated on the basis of their:

• Desire to attend OCA.
• Attitude toward Christian standards and principles.
• Desire to excel academically.
• Previous school records (academic and behavioral).
• Results of pre-admissions and placement testing.
• Reputation for moral character and respect for authority.
• Enrollment application.

Five-year-old Kindergarten and First Grade applicants must be five and six years of age respectively before September 1st of the school year for which they are applying. Exceptions will be made at the discretion of the Principal and upon the parents’ signed agreement of the Premature Age Enrollment Disclaimer.

All students must be fully toilet-trained. Your child must be toilet trained for a classroom environment. Due to supervisory and health concerns, the OCA staff will not be responsible for changing soiled clothing.

Next Steps

Submit all necessary documents to the Office once the online application has been completed:

• • • • Copy of parent’s/guardian’s driver’s license.
      • Copy of most recent legal or custodial documentation related to the student (if applicable).
      • Copy of student birth certificate. Must be officially translated if not in English.
      • Receipt of most recent completed student health examination on Florida form DH3040, including the parent portion.
      • Current Florida Certificate of Immunization DH680–or Religious Exemption Certificate.
      • Parent letter documenting any permanent tattoos on the student (if applicable). Please include location and description for each.
      • Parent copy of final grades and transcripts for prior school years.
      • Parent copy of most recent report cards/progress reports for current school year.
      • Printed copy of PSAT/SAT/Pre-ACT/ACT/PERT student score reports, if applicable.
      • Signed Release of Records for the applicant.
      • Copy of the student’s IEP, SP, 504, medical evaluation, or therapy notes (if applicable).
      • Completed Parent Questionnaire for all students.
      • Completed Student Questionnaire for students entering grades 6-12.
      • Other documents of a special nature that are required by the Principal that have been previously discussed with the parents

Admissions Testing

Entering K5: Students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following areas at/or above 50%: recognition of letters (upper and lower case) and sounds, numbers 0-20, sequentially counting 1-10, reciting the alphabet, and demonstrating writing skills. Students are also evaluated on their ability to sit in a chair and cooperate without a parent/guardian present.

Entering Grade 1: Students should score at/or above reading 20 words per minute/70% correct and 70% on the Math assessment.

Entering Grades 2-8: Students should score at/or above 50% percentile in each subject area.

Entering Grades 9-12:

Students not meeting the Admission Testing Benchmark may be ineligible for acceptance to OCA.

Returning Students

Returning Students

1. Submit the Notarized Statement of Facts 2025-2026 for each student. (For your convenience, we have a notary available in the office. Must be present to sign and ID is required.)
   
2. For students entering 6th grade, an updated Florida physical form (DH 3040) (both sides completed) with scoliosis/postural assessment check is required. For students entering 7th grade, an updated shot record on the Florida form is required (Code 8 only) (DH 680).
   
3. Ensure that your child’s academic progress, behavioral record, attendance record, and financial account are in good standing. Returning students with grades below passing (70% average for students in grades K5-8^th and below a 2.0 GPA for students in grades 9^th-12^th), a record of disciplinary issues, attendance issues, and/or unpaid balances from the previous school year may not be accepted for re-enrollment and will be asked to meet with the administration.
4. Submit the $175 non-refundable registration balance for the upcoming school year. (Total registration and fees must be paid by July 1.)
   OR
   Complete the Scholarship Guidelines Commitment Form 2025-2026<–this must be completed with an Office staff member.
   This form is currently not available, and the Office will notify you when it becomes available.
   
5. If Applicable: Copy of the most recent legal or custodial documentation relating to the student. This must be resubmitted every year to verify no changes have been made.
6. If Applicable: Parent letter documenting any permanent tattoos on the student listing location and description of each.
7. Optional: Update your child’s Authorization to Dispense Medication 2025-2026 with your pediatrician to have your child take any medication at school, including over the counter medicine such as cough drops, Tylenol, etc.

Once ALL steps are completed your space will be reserved. Please Note: For all students, registration will not be considered complete until the office has accepted all paperwork/notarized forms and necessary fees have been paid. For any additional siblings not currently attending OCA, an application for enrollment will need to be completed through your parent portal–select “2025-2026 Portal-New Sibling” from the drop down menu in Online Forms.
