DUAL ENROLLMENT

Okeechobee Christian Academy has an agreement with Indian River State College through their Dual Enrollment program. The Indian River State College Dual Enrollment program allows eligible students to simultaneously earn high school credit toward their high school diploma and credit toward an Associate Degree or career training certificate for an eligible course.

Through IRSC Dual Enrollment, eligible public, charter, private school students get a jump on college, saving both time and money. Dual Enrollment students are exempt from application, tuition, and laboratory fees, and also receive required textbooks at no charge.

COLLEGE PREP

Okeechobee Christian Academy is a college board certified PSAT / SAT School Day testing site. This honor was granted after a rigorous process of verifying accreditation, high academic integrity, and qualified staff within our school. The benefits of being a testing site to our students are numerous, but include:

        • scheduling convenience of testing within school hours

        • comfort of testing in familiar surroundings

        • personalized official SAT Practice on Khan Academy® which provides a tailored practice plan for every student

        • support with students’ personalized education through integrated coaching tools based on SAT / PSAT data and learning plans

OCA teachers provide one-on-one, personalized counseling for Juniors and Seniors, including:

        • college applications

        • resumes

        • personal statements

        • scholarships

        • college readiness

Upperclassmen meet directly with representatives of the following colleges and universities, among others:

        • Warner University

        • Southeastern University

        • Bob Jones University

        • Indian River State College

THE P.E.R.T.

The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) is Florida’s common placement test. This test is used by Florida colleges, school districts, and some state universities to determine whether a student is ready for college credit courses in English Language Arts and Mathematics.
