The Secondary Program has been developed to promote higher learning and critical thinking skills in correlation with the Florida State Department of Education standards. Seniors who successfully complete their tenure at Okeechobee Christian Academy will receive a high school diploma and transcripts reflecting their work and achievement.
GRADUATING STUDENTS MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING ACADEMIC CREDITS, FOR A MINIMUM TOTAL OF 24.00 CREDITS:
GRADUATING STUDENTS MUST ALSO HAVE A MINIMUM OF 100 VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS.
*Course list may vary slightly by academic year
High School graduation requirements at Okeechobee Christian Academy include a minimum of 100 hours of community service. These hours must be planned and executed then documented and signed by the student, the student’s guardian, and the representative of the organization for which the student performed the volunteer service work on the official Community Service Documentation Fillable Form. Return printed and signed forms to the OCA office to receive credit.
Students may begin volunteering the summer following 8th grade after official promotion to 9th grade. It is highly recommended that students volunteer at least 25 hours per high school year to help avoid procrastination.
Good news! These required graduation community service hours are applicable toward various Florida Bright Futures Scholarships (academic/tech/vocational), as well as other financial aid possibilities. Click Florida Student Scholarship and Grant Programs to find out more.
